Philip Sass, Ph.D.

Philip M. Sass, Ph.D. is a co-founder of Morphotek, Inc. He has held industrial positions as Director, Development at Magainin Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and as a Senior Scientist at the American Cyanamid Corporation. Previously, Dr. Sass held an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor in the University of Illinois’s Department of Pharmacology.

He has also held adjunct academic appointments at New York Medical College’s Department of Immunology as well as in the Immunology and Infectious Diseases Department at Rockefeller University. Dr. Sass is a member of the National Science Foundation Grant Review Committee and has served on the National Institutes of Health Special Study Section. He has published numerous research articles in several areas, including cancer and yeast genetics.

Dr. Sass received his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and continued his post-doctoral training at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Cold Spring Harbor, NY.
