Wakif El-Diery, M.D., Ph.D. is a Howard Hughes Investigator and practicing oncologist at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. El-Diery's research has focused on the molecular and genetic mechanisms of cancer and cellular apoptosis. He is internationally recognized as a leader in molecular oncology and genetics and has been selected and funded by the National Institutes of Health for his work in studying the biology of tumor suppressor genes and pathways. He is an editor for several leading scientific journals and has published over 100 research articles in leading scientific journals. His expertise in molecular genetics and clinical oncology are valuable in helping Morphotek steer its anti-cancer therapeutics programs and clinical studies.
