Nicholas Nicolaides, Ph.D.
President, Chief Executive Officer
Nicholas C. Nicolaides Ph.D. is a co-founder of Morphotek. Dr. Nicolaides co-invented morphogenics, a whole genome evolution technology that became the basis of Morphotek. He is an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® award winner (2007) for his innovations and contributions to the life science industry in the Greater Philadelphia Region.
Prior to joining Morphotek, Dr. Nicolaides was Director of Research at the Magainin Institute of Molecular Medicine, a division of Magainin Pharmaceuticals Inc. Dr. Nicolaides' scientific background is in human molecular genetics, where he has studied and authored many scientific papers on the molecular and genetic basis of cancer and respiratory. He currently serves as a Director of Bio Health Section Governing Board.
Dr. Nicolaides received his Ph.D. in genetics at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA and continued his post-doctoral training at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD.

Philip Sass, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
Philip M. Sass, Ph.D. is a co-founder of Morphotek, Inc. He has held industrial positions as Director, Development at Magainin Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and as a Senior Scientist at the American Cyanamid Corporation. Previously, Dr. Sass held an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor in the University of Illinois’s Department of Pharmacology.
He has also held adjunct academic appointments at New York Medical College’s Department of Immunology and in the Immunology and Infectious Diseases Department at Rockefeller University. Dr. Sass is a member of the National Science Foundation Grant Review Committee and has served on the National Institutes of Health Special Study Section. He has published numerous research articles in several areas, including cancer and yeast genetics.
Dr. Sass received his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and continued his post-doctoral training at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Cold Spring Harbor, NY.

Rodney Dausch
Vice President of Project Management, Chief Financial Officer
Rodney Dausch has over 30 years of experience in financial and operations management, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for a publicly held biopharmaceutical company. While there, he also led its successful initial and follow-on public offerings in the role of Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to moving into the biotechnology sector, Mr. Dausch began his career with Ernst & Young. He received his B.S. from Loyola College and was formerly a Certified Public Accountant.

Luigi Grasso, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President of Research and Development, Chief Scientific Officer
Luigi Grasso, Ph.D is a co-founder of Morphotek. Prior to joining the company, he was Assistant Director of Research at the Magainin Institute of Molecular Medicine, a division of Magainin Pharmaceuticals Inc.
Dr. Grasso's scientific background is in pathology and molecular genetics, where he has studied and co-authored many scientific papers on the molecular and genetic basis of human disease.
Dr. Grasso received his Ph.D. in Pathology at the University of Catania, Italy and continued his post-doctoral training at the Kimmel Cancer Center and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA.
