Morphotek CEO Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2007 Award Winner in Greater Philadelphia Region
Award Recognizes Nicholas Nicolaides for Entrepreneurial Excellence in Life Sciences
Exton, Pa. – June 26, 2007 – Nicholas C. Nicolaides, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of Morphotek, Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Eisai Co., Ltd., was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® for his innovations and contributions to the life science industry in the Greater Philadelphia Region. Dr. Nicolaides was honored for his development of a whole genome evolution technology called morphogenics, whichbecame the basis for Morphotek, a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies.
The Greater Philadelphia Regional Entrepreneur of the Year Award Ceremony, held at the Lowes Hotel in Philadelphia last Thursday, celebrated local entrepreneurs and the pioneering businesses they have developed. The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award, in its 21st year, seeks to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. Awards are given to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
